Built for the realities of your classroom.
A primary maths platform designed with teachers, grounded in inclusion research, and powered by AI that detects what a markbook never could.
What Everybody Counts Is
Everybody Counts is a primary maths platform for ages 5–11 that combines carefully sequenced mastery teaching with intelligent, real-time insight into how every child is learning.
It was built by a team that includes one of the UK's leading experts in dyscalculia and mathematical learning differences. That's not a marketing line — it's the reason the platform works differently. Inclusion isn't bolted on as a feature. It's the architecture.
Where other platforms adapt difficulty, Everybody Counts detects patterns over time: emerging gaps, cognitive overload signals, and early indicators of learning differences that would otherwise go unnoticed until Year 6.
This is not “adaptive learning” bolted onto worksheets. It is structured pedagogy, strengthened by intelligent systems. Teachers stay central. The AI doesn't replace professional judgement — it gives teachers the kind of longitudinal insight that no amount of marking and data entry could provide.
How It Works
Mastery-sequenced lessons align with your curriculum. Flexible enough to fit how you already work, structured enough to ensure progression.
As pupils work, embedded assessment captures understanding in real time. The AI builds a longitudinal picture of each child — not just right or wrong, but how they're thinking.
Teachers and leaders get real-time reporting that highlights emerging gaps, identifies children who may need support, and tracks progress against mastery milestones. Patterns are detected early — before gaps widen.
Teachers stay in control. Technology enhances professional judgement.
It reduces planning and marking time, surfaces actionable insight for leaders, and provides confident data for governors and inspection — without adding another system to manage.
You don't need to change how you teach. We adapt to your curriculum — not the other way around.
Learn MoreWe partner with education distributors, publishers, and system leaders to bring Everybody Counts to new regions. We are not exporting a product. We are building systems.
Our model is built for genuine localisation — adapting curriculum, language, cultural context, and pedagogy to each market.
Partner With UsIn a 229-pupil Cambodian pilot, fully localised mathematics materials were associated with a 13.2-percentage-point improvement in assessment scores compared with translated-only materials (Cohen's d = 0.78, p < 0.001).

Platform
Everybody Counts is a web-based maths mastery platform for primary schools (ages 5–11). It combines structured, mastery-sequenced lessons with intelligent assessment and real-time reporting — all designed around how teachers actually teach.
The platform integrates with your existing school systems through Wonde, ClassLink, or Classera. As an LTI 1.3 tool provider, Everybody Counts connects to any LTI-compliant learning management system. We also integrate directly with major MIS platforms and are a Google for Education partner. Setup is managed, not dumped on your IT coordinator.
Pupils work through carefully sequenced content. As they progress, the platform builds a longitudinal profile of each learner — tracking not just attainment but patterns in how they approach mathematical thinking. Teachers see this insight in real time. Leaders see it aggregated. Nobody has to export a spreadsheet.
This is infrastructure for strong mathematics education.
Content is structured around mastery principles: small, carefully ordered steps that build deep understanding before moving on. Lessons are flexible enough to adapt to your existing scheme of work. Sequencing follows evidence-based progression, with concrete–pictorial–abstract (CPA) approaches embedded throughout. Resources are designed to reduce cognitive load, particularly for pupils who find mathematical abstraction challenging.
Assessment is continuous and embedded, not bolt-on. As pupils work through activities, the platform captures data on their understanding in real time — no separate test papers, no additional marking.
Reports are designed for three audiences: teachers who need to know what to do next lesson, leaders who need a picture of progress across the school, and governors who need confident data for accountability and inspection.
We do not simply report scores. We identify patterns. The platform flags emerging gaps before they become entrenched — giving teachers and SENCOs the evidence to intervene early, not reactively.
The teacher dashboard surfaces what matters: which pupils are on track, which need attention, and where the class stands in relation to mastery milestones. Planning time is reduced because the platform does the diagnostic work. Resources, lesson sequences, and intervention suggestions are available directly from the dashboard. Designed to support decision-making — not replace it.
The leadership dashboard provides whole-school visibility without requiring anyone to collate spreadsheets. Progress data is aggregated by class, year group, pupil premium status, SEND register, and custom cohorts. Data is presented clearly enough to share directly with governors, Ofsted, or trust-level leadership.
Leadership should have clarity — not complexity.
Inclusive Learning
Inclusion is not an add-on. It is embedded in the platform's architecture.
This is not a platform that added an accessibility checklist after launch. Everybody Counts was co-founded by Judy Hornigold — one of the UK's leading authorities on dyscalculia, co-founder of the Dyscalculia Association, and author of GCSE Maths for Neurodivergent Learners, Making Maths Visual and Tactile, and Can I Tell You About Dyscalculia? Her expertise isn't a consultancy input on the project. It is the foundation the platform was built on.
Every classroom includes pupils who need different kinds of support. Most platforms treat that as an edge case. We designed for it from day one. Intervention becomes proactive, not reactive.
Responsible AI
There is no shortage of EdTech companies claiming to use AI. Most of them mean adaptive difficulty — making questions easier or harder based on right/wrong answers. That's useful, but it's not what we do.
Everybody Counts uses AI to detect patterns that humans cannot see at scale: longitudinal trends in how a child approaches mathematical thinking, early signals of emerging gaps, indicators of cognitive overload, and patterns consistent with mathematical learning differences. This insight is surfaced to teachers, not used to override them.
The AI sits within pedagogical guardrails — curriculum-aligned, mastery-informed, and designed to enhance professional judgement rather than replace it.
Teachers can see why a recommendation was made and what data informed it.
The AI suggests, the teacher decides. Always.
Pupil data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR, with privacy-by-design principles throughout the architecture. Data is processed on secure, UK/EU-hosted infrastructure.
Professional judgement remains central. We are building AI that helps teachers teach children better — not AI that teaches children.
Curriculum & Localisation
Everybody Counts currently supports the English National Curriculum for primary mathematics (Key Stages 1 and 2), with localisation complete or underway for Malta, the GCC region (via Classera), and Southeast Asia.
Localisation is not translation. When we adapt the platform for a new market, we work with local educators to contextualise everything: curriculum mapping, language and terminology, cultural references in problem contexts, assessment frameworks, and regional reporting standards.
In Cambodia, a 16-week quasi-experimental study at PreySpeu School (229 pupils, matched control groups, TIMSS-adapted assessment) found that pupils using the hyper-localised platform gained 13.2 percentage points more than the control group, with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.78). Teacher maths preparation time fell by 35%. The platform also identified 14 pupils with previously undetected learning differences — in a system with no prior framework for doing so. Implementation
We do not hand over login credentials and wish you luck. Every school receives:
We work alongside your leadership team to ensure long-term success — not short-term rollout.
For Schools & Teachers
You already know the problem. Too many pupils learning at different paces. Growing SEND complexity. Pressure on outcomes. A workload that assumes teachers have time they simply do not have.
Everybody Counts was designed around these constraints — not as an idealised version of what schools might be, but as a practical response to what schools actually are.
Less time marking, less time entering data, and more time on the work that brought you into teaching. The platform handles the diagnostic grind so you can focus on instruction, intervention, and the children in front of you.
Real-time visibility into progress, gaps, and emerging needs — aggregated and ready to share with governors, inspectors, or trust leadership without a weekend spent in Excel.
Evidence. The platform's longitudinal analysis surfaces early indicators of mathematical learning differences, giving you the data to act early rather than react late.
This is not extra work. It is structured support.
Pricing is based on school size and implementation scope. We offer flexible licensing for individual schools, multi-academy trusts, and local authority partnerships. Every licence includes full platform access, onboarding, staff training, and ongoing support. There are no hidden costs for updates, new content, or additional features.
Request a QuoteEffective implementation depends on confident staff. Training is not an optional extra — it's built into every implementation.
Our training is delivered by education specialists, not salespeople. Sessions cover mastery pedagogy, supporting neurodiverse learners, effective use of the platform's reporting tools, and how to embed Everybody Counts into your existing planning and assessment cycle.
We also offer extended CPD for schools that want to go deeper on dyscalculia awareness, maths anxiety, and inclusive teaching practices — drawing on Judy Hornigold's nationally recognised expertise and BDA-accredited training.
For Distributors
We are not looking for resellers. We are looking for partners who understand their local education landscape, care about outcomes, and want to deliver something genuinely impactful.
Our partnership model is built around hyper-localisation: deep adaptation of curriculum, language, cultural context, and pedagogy for each market. We provide the platform, the pedagogical framework, and the technical infrastructure. You bring the local expertise, relationships, and delivery capability.
We are not exporting a product. We are building systems.
Full market exclusivity for a defined territory. You lead sales, implementation, and ongoing school support. Best suited to established education distributors with strong school networks.
Non-exclusive partnership for a specific region or segment. Deliver Everybody Counts alongside your existing portfolio, with co-branded materials and joint implementation support.
Structured partnership for government-funded programmes, ministry-led initiatives, or NGO education projects. We provide platform deployment, training-of-trainers, and impact measurement frameworks.
Start with a defined pilot — typically 5–20 schools — with clear success metrics and a pathway to full-scale deployment. This is how most of our international partnerships begin.
We don't hand over an API key and disappear. Every partner receives:
Partnership is long-term by design. Strong partnerships are built on collaboration, shared values, and commitment to impact — not transactional licensing deals.
Impact
Everybody Counts exists to ensure that mathematical understanding is not limited by geography, background, or circumstance. Measuring whether we're achieving that is not optional — it's central to how we work.
Pupils using fully localised materials gained 20.8 pp (52.3% → 73.1%) vs 7.6 pp for those using Khmer-translated materials retaining Western contexts. Difference-in-differences: 13.2 pp. Cohen's d = 0.78 (large). p < 0.001.
Weekly maths preparation fell from 6.1 to approximately 4.0 hours across 12 teachers (self-reported). More time teaching, less time on materials and marking.
Three-stage process — platform-generated flags reviewed by teachers, then referred for specialist assessment — identified 12.2% of the treatment group in a system with no prior identification framework. Reported sensitivity: 89%. Reported specificity: 94%. These figures require further validation.
Quasi-experimental design with matched control groups at a single school. Provider-authored study with published methodology and KAPE-observed fidelity monitoring. Not independently audited or peer-reviewed.
The full study — including methodology, sample sizes, limitations, and statistical analysis — is published on Educave Research. It is provider-authored, not independently audited. We present the findings transparently and welcome scrutiny. Bold claims without rigorous evidence are worse than no claims at all.
Our platform is grounded in published research on mastery pedagogy, dyscalculia, cognitive load theory, and the responsible application of AI in educational settings. Key research foundations include:
We are currently participating in Innovate UK-supported research and gathering evidence from UK school partnerships. The Cambodia study is our first published external evaluation.
Mathematical understanding should not depend on geography, language, or circumstance. Inclusion is not a strand of our work. It is the reason the company exists.
Everybody Counts was co-founded by Judy Hornigold because too many children with mathematical learning differences were — and are — being failed by systems that detect problems too late and intervene too weakly. The platform is designed to change that.
In Cambodia, a three-stage process — platform-generated flags, teacher review, then specialist assessment — identified dyscalculia (4.3%), dyslexia affecting maths (3.5%), and ADHD-related maths difficulties (2.6%) among treatment-group pupils. These conditions had gone entirely undetected in a system with no prior identification framework. The platform flagged candidates; the diagnoses were made by qualified assessors, not by the AI.
If we cannot demonstrate that Everybody Counts makes a measurable difference for the pupils who need it most, we have not done our job.
About
Everybody Counts was founded by Andy Ridgway and Judy Hornigold because they believed — and still believe — that mathematical understanding should never depend on where a child was born, what school they attend, or whether their learning differences are recognised in time.
Judy is one of the UK's leading experts on dyscalculia. Andy has spent his career building education programmes that work in the real world, not just in pilot reports. Together, they built a platform that starts from inclusion and works outward — rather than starting from a generic product and trying to bolt accessibility on afterwards.
The company has grown from a UK-focused maths platform into an internationally deployed system operating across multiple markets. The technology has evolved. The mission has not changed at all.
From the beginning, our focus has been: teacher-first design, responsible AI, inclusion by architecture, and sustainable international delivery.
Education expertise meets responsible AI engineering. Classroom experience meets international delivery.
